In the last few weeks every home has had the chance
to complete a survey and say what they think about
the parking situation. We have now had well over 50
of these back and guess what? Everybody WANTS
SOMETHING TO BE DONE!
Judith and I had a meeting on May 8 with 2 people from the Council to pass on your views and show them the surveys. We asked for a public meeting and about setting up a Residents Group. We heard recently that this will be on July 7, 5.30-7pm. Venue to be announced.
By coincidence (I think not!) a few days later on May 11 a letter was put through all our doors from our Councillors. They assure us they are working hard on our behalf, lots of meetings with people at the hospitals and university and police and parking departments, and after not much success at first, things are now starting to move. They also said they worked for 10 years to get the Carmoor Road scheme introduced... you know, the one that we told them in advance would just shift the problem here. Not sure they should have admitted to that! Apparently in the next few weeks we will be contacted to get our views. Hello? WE'VE DONE THAT! The letter had no mention of what the residents have already done, even though we know they have been told about it. I hope this isn't a delaying tactic - we've been waiting a long time for some practical action.
