more on Visitor Permits

I have now heard that
the likely delay between introducing the Residents'
Parking Scheme here in the Groves and the
implementing of a scheme for Visitor Permits is
likely to be a "minimum... of 3 to 4 months". The
word "minimum" worries me - I recall at our Public
Meeting in July of last year we were told it would
take at least a year for our scheme to begin. That
was 14 months ago and counting. Even at 3 months,
that is a lot of time for people visiting us on
weekdays who wish to stay for longer than 3 hours to
be at risk of getting a parking ticket.
So, the question is - do we accept that inconvenience for the relative few that might effect, and go with the two stages as currently proposed? Or, would we prefer that the whole thing is done in one go, which means we wait a while longer for the Scheme? We will be informally asking around. If you would like to give us an opinion, email me. If there are a number of residents who would prefer waiting, I will take that view to the next consultation meeting.
We're getting there... slowly.
