More from the July 16 meeting. This just in from Simon Cook at the Council Traffic Section:
"We are continuing to work towards a solution which meets with the needs of
the residents and is economically viable. I meet with Manchester Parking
next week to discuss this further.
With regards to the extension to the parking scheme in The Groves, the
legal schedules are being drafted by City Solicitors, and I anticipate that
the legal orders will be advertised shortly. We are keen that residents
parking in The Groves is not further delayed, however, this is likely to
result in a period where residents parking is introduced in this area
without provision for visitors permits. This is because visitors permits
(whichever form they may take) will require consultation with residents in
the wider area, and alterations to the legal schedules."
I'm trying to find out how long the delay in visitor permits is likely to be. Simon is working hard trying to make this all happen and the red tape and legal stuff is not his fault. It's a SLOOOWWWW system folks.
