Nearly there?

Here is an email I
received from Simon Cook at Highway Services on March
30. This was in response to my request for a progress
report as we had heard nothing since the notices went
up in December.
"Thank you for your patience in this matter.
We did receive one objection in relation to the proposed residents parking scheme. This has been overruled by the Deputy Chief Executive (Regeneration), and the objector has been informed of this decision.
A works order has been placed for the road markings and traffic signs and I am liaising with Manchester Parking to put in place an appropriate method for distributing permits to residents. We will be writing to residents in April providing information on how permits will be distributed and seeking cooperation in relation to the installation of the road markings. The contractor informs me that works will commence in relation to the traffic signs and road markings within the next 3-4 weeks."
So, we could have our scheme before the second anniversary of the Public Meeting of July 2008 when it was promised to us. Watch out for those letters.
